Big Trees and Strange Machines

Well, after a long trip back to the surface to visit family and friends (and catch up on my college work!) I finally returned to the Cavern. Man, was I ever surprised! There were so many new ages and areas available! I remembered that I still had a journey to finish, so with a sad look back at the museum, I returned to Relto to head to the next age.

Which happened to be Kadish Tolesa. When I arrived, I found myself getting pelted on the head by these large, strange objects. It took me a minute, but I discovered the the objects were actually giant leaves! And what I had taken for rock walls were actually trunks of trees. Simply amazing! I traversed the age, and stumbled upon an odd mechanical device set on a large dias. I looked through it and found out that it was some sort of puzzle lock. I tried fiddling with it to make it work, but it refused to do anything. Giving up for the time being, I wandered through the rest of the Age, and found two more devices similar to the first. At the third device I also found a linking book back to the Cavern. Feeling a bit frustrated with the devices in the Age, I decided a trip back to D'ni might help me clear my head.

It's a good thing I went back! I arrived in the Gallery, and spent some time looking at the stained glass displays. I noticed that one of the displays resembled the views through the devices in Kadish Tolesa! On a hunch, I went back and made the devices match the gallery displays.

As I made my way deeper into the age, I found that I had to take many trips back to the Gallery to find the clues I needed to proceed. But, at last, I finally found the Journey Door, after making a heart-stopping leap to reach it. Once through, I obtained another pillar, and heard more about the evils of the D'ni society, especially it's greed.

Hearing this speech, I had to question the Restoration. Are we sure that we want to revive a civilization that could enslave others? We haven't even completely made it past the slave-stage ourselves. Could the revival of D'ni start that over again?

I should think on this more.

Mushrooms and me: Not the best age

*KACHOO!!*

I HATE mushrooms!

Ok, so after some time back on the surface, I decided to continue my Journey. I found myself attracted to one of the books that were in the four pillars on Relto. I couldn't make it out ver well through the linking panel, so I threw caution to the wind (after making sure my Relto book was firmly attached to my belt!)

Big mistake.

I arrived in a hut, inside what appeared to be a cave. I left through the only door, and examined my surroundings. Not much of interest, except some tiny, glowing things floating down from the ceiling. My first thought was that they were insects, but upon further examination, I discovered that they were actually spores.

Huh.

Well, after this somewhat interesting discovery, I ventured outside the cave. As soon as i took one step out, I was blasted by a wave of muggy, hot air. Continuing down the path, I noticed-to my growing horror-that what I first took for trees were actually mushrooms.

Very, Very BIG mushrooms.

Did I mention I'm allergic to spores?

Well, after much sneezing, I headed toward a piece of machinery that drew my attention. It took me an hour but I FINALLY figured out how it worked, and got the energy flowing through the Age.

And after a long time, I managed to find all the Cloths, andthe Door.

My reward for this misery?

A pillar.

A dinky blue/black pillar, and a jump into a star filled fissure.

And, I'm stocking up on allergy medicine before I go back.

Journey So Far......

Wow. I am in awe.

Sorry, guess I should introduce myself, huh? I'm Nex. About a month ago, I had a strange dream. In it, a woman warned me about a coming "destruction" and told me to "find a way" and "make a home." It was weird, but I didn't think anything about it you know? Then, I stumbled on a website, http://drcsite.org. I read about this ancient civilization called D'ni, that supposedly lived under the Earth's surface. After exploring around the Internet for awhile, I found out that I wasn't the only one who had this dream. Others had, and they followed the call. Most importantly, I found a destination, a place to go to follow my dream! So I packed up, and drove off to find my way to the ancient city of D'ni.

When I arrived, I was given a book. I thought, "What? I come all this way and all I get is a stupid book?" Yeah, I know, I should have connected the dots-D'ni, book, linking book!! Eventually, I discovered that the book actually took me to an Age called Relto, and that it was mine! But, then I found out that there was something important I had to do.

I had to take a Journey.

It began in a place called "The Cleft" which I reached through another linking book I found in Relto. I met this weird dude, Zandi, who said he "probably knew more about why I was there than I did!" I found my way down to this place in the Cleft, it looked like somebody's home. There were lots of strange devices everywhere but nothing worked. After a lot of running around trying to figure things out, I finally got things working, only to find a holographic message from the woman I heard in my dream. She said a lot of things, I still don't understand most of it. All I know is, she needs my help.

What else can I do?
